Brian Bainum

Chairman

Brian Bainum serves as Chair of White Oak Enterprises and Artis Senior Living and is a director of Choice Hotels International. Formerly a management consultant, he has a diverse background in enterprise digital transformations, sales strategy, and real estate development and investing, including positions at Deloitte Consulting, LLC, and Infosys Consulting. Prior to these roles, Brian supported hotel franchise development at Choice Hotels and managed on-property operations at Sunburst Hospitality Corporation. Brian is also a director of Three Graces Foundation, a nonprofit that supports health and education projects in the developing world. He received an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management as well as an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

Scott Renschler

Director

Scott Renschler serves on the Advisory Council of White Oak Enterprises as well as an advisor to several other Bainum-affiliated entities and was a past director of Choice Hotels International. He has been intimately involved in the growth and oversight of the Bainum Family Foundation for several decades and currently serves as Chair of its board. Scott is a licensed psychologist in independent practice in Seattle, where he provides psychotherapy to adults and consultation and supervision to other mental health professionals. He received his Doctor of Psychology and Master of Arts degrees in clinical psychology from the Washington School of Professional Psychology and completed his internship at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. In addition to his degrees in psychology, Scott holds a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from the University of Washington and an undergraduate degree in English, with honors, from Pomona College.

Matthew Bainum

Director

Matthew (Matt) Bainum is currently earning an MBA at the Wharton School of Business with a focus in Finance and Management. Matt is the founder of Mindpak, an education technology company aimed at improving student mental health. Before embarking on his entrepreneurial journey, Matt worked in Product Operations at Newsela and taught at California’s third lowest-performing middle school as part of Teach for America. In addition to his role at Mindpak, Matt serves as a board observer for Choice Hotels International. Matt holds an undergraduate degree in History with a minor in Economics from Pomona College.

Christine A. Shreve

Advisor

Christine (Chris) A. Shreve serves on the Advisory Council of White Oak Enterprises and other governance and consulting roles. For several decades, she was President of the Bainum family office with key responsibilities including personal wealth management, asset management, estate and generational planning, and leadership in the family’s philanthropic endeavors. For the Bainum family, Chris currently serves as a trustee; on the Advisory Council of Artis Senior Living; and on the Audit Committees of the Bainum Family Foundation and the Children’s Equity Fund. In addition, Chris is a director/trustee for several family foundations, investment enterprises, and trusts for other high net worth families. She received an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1981.

Charles Ledsinger, Jr.

Advisor

Charles (Chuck) Ledsinger, Jr. serves on the Advisory Council of White Oak Enterprises and is a director of the Bainum Family Foundation. Prior to this, he was Chair of SunBridge Capital Management, a multi-strategy investment firm within White Oak, and Sunburst Hospitality Corporation. Chuck was President and CEO of Choice Hotels International from 1998 to 2008. During Chuck’s 10 years of leadership, the company’s hotels grew in number from 3,000 to more than 5,700 while simultaneously creating industry-leading shareholder returns. Chuck’s career includes leadership roles at The Promus Companies (now Hilton) and the St. Joe Company, Florida’s largest landowner and real estate developer. Chuck received an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of Memphis.

Christian Zabbal

Advisor

Christian Zabbal serves on the Advisory Council of White Oak Enterprises and is a Managing Partner with Spring Lane Capital. Prior to this, he was with Black Coral Capital, a family office specializing in cleantech and renewables. He also serves as board member and co-founder on the CREO Syndicate, a group of large family offices that share a common interest and mission in investing capital in climate impact solutions. Earlier in his career, Christian served as a Partner at ghSMART & Company, Inc., a management consulting firm specialized in talent assessment for the private equity industry. He was also a junior partner at McKinsey & Company working out of the New York, Amsterdam and Montreal offices. Christian started his career as a cancer researcher and holds an MBA in international finance from McGill University.

Patrick George

Chief Executive Officer

Patrick (Pat) George serves as President and CEO of White Oak Enterprises. In this role, he works closely with the Bainum family, Advisory Council, and team members to oversee the office’s investment portfolio, family services group, and sponsored hospitality initiatives. Prior to joining White Oak, Pat served as the Chief Investment Officer of Halstatt, the Sproul family office in Southwest Florida. He brings considerable experience across a variety of asset classes, including public and private equities, fixed income, commodities, hedge funds, and specialty finance. He began his career as a tech entrepreneur and venture capitalist and has worked at McKinsey & Company, Compaq (now HP), and William Blair. Pat received an undergraduate degree, with honors, from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

David J. Korotkin

Vice President

David (Dave) J. Korotkin serves as Vice President of White Oak Enterprises, where he is responsible for investment management as well as corporate support for accounting, reporting, and information technology. He has worked for the Bainum family in various capacities for over 14 years. Dave has spent his career in finance and IT roles across various industries, including CFO experience in B2B services, consumer goods, and a tech start-up. His early career includes financial management roles in luxury goods and financial services, and he started his career with a regional public accounting firm in California. Dave holds an MBA in Finance and Information Technology and an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Maryland and a member of Mensa.

Pam McKenzie Williams

Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Pamela (Pam) McKenzie Williams serves as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of White Oak Enterprises where she is responsible for management of investments and rendering legal advice to the CEO, Advisory Council and senior management. Since 1995, she has worked across the portfolio of Bainum family investments, including Choice Hotels, and currently serves as President of both Park Silver, LLC and Sunburst Hospitality Corporation. In addition, Pam serves on the boards of Peaceable Street Capital and Real Time Medical Systems. She started her career at the law firm of Hogan & Hartson, LLC (currently known as Hogan Lovells), concentrating her practice in bankruptcy and real estate development and acquisitions. Pam holds a Juris Doctorate and an undergraduate degree in Jurisprudence from the University of Baltimore.

Mary C. Acker

Vice President

Mary C. Acker serves as the Vice President of White Oak Resources, LLC, the family service component of White Oak Enterprises. Her responsibilities include personal wealth management, estate planning, accounting, cash management, tax, philanthropic management, and other family concierge services. She has worked with the Bainum family for over 30 years in different capacities, most recently as a family office Vice President since 2006. She received an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Frostburg State University and has been a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Maryland since 1988.
