Tertium
An initiative of the Bainum family dedicated to climate impact investing and sustainability. Tertium is a wholly-owned division of White Oak Enterprises, investing across asset classes to drive change.
The Tertium Fund is an initiative started in 2018 by the third generation of the Bainum family to make investments that have a positive impact on the environment, lower carbon emissions, and help mitigate the effects of climate change. Tertium makes fund commitments and direct investments with the goal of coupling mid-teens financial returns with thematic climate solutions from the Top 25 of the Project Drawdown Table of Solutions. Tertium also has a partnership with Rock Creek Group, which itself has a long history of climate impact investments.
Tertium’s largest direct investments are in SIMPLi, a regenerative organic vertical supply chain importer of grains, beans, and salts from South America and Europe, and MARS Energy Group, a nationwide end-to-end service provider for solar, energy storage, and EV charging projects. Tertium also enjoys a close relationship with VoLo Earth Ventures, a leading impact-focused venture capital firm.
