Bainum Family Hires Patrick George to Lead Restructured Family Office

FULTON, MD., Oct. 23, 2023 – The Bainum family today announced the appointment of Patrick George to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of White Oak Enterprises, Inc., the Bainum family office (formerly known as Realty Investment Company, Inc.), which manages the financial affairs of four generations of the family, as well as the private enterprises SunBridge Capital Management, LLC, Sunburst Hospitality Corporation, Park Silver, LLC, and the Tertium Fund. George will start in the role on Monday, November 6.

George spent the last 14 years as an executive and advisor at Halstatt, LLC, a Naples, Fla., based private investment firm backed by the Sproul family. Prior to joining Halstatt, George was a managing partner at Florida Gulfshore Capital, LLC, and a Vice President at Be Free, Inc., an internet marketing startup. George, who has had stints at McKinsey & Co., Inc., Compaq Computer Corporation, and William Blair & Company, holds a BA degree from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

SunBridge Capital Management is a private investment management firm supported with capital and strategic guidance from the Bainum family, focused on active public and private equity investments in targeted industries. Sunburst Hospitality Corporation owns and operates five hotels and is the manager for Park Silver, LLC, a Bainum owned private entity that develops extended stay hotels. The Tertium Fund is a private, climate-focused investment fund managed through the family office. Realty Investment Company was incorporated 72 years ago by Stewart Bainum, Sr., and has served as the family office for the Bainum family ever since.

George takes the helm of the Bainum family office from Christine Shreve, who has worked for over 34 years for the Bainum family, first for Stewart Bainum, Sr., in the late 1980s. Shreve, who is retiring at the end of 2023, has been the President of Realty Investment Company for the last 17 years.
