Matthew Bainum

Matthew (Matt) Bainum serves as a director of White Oak Enterprises and is the founder of Sierra Cove Capital, a self-funded investment firm focused on acquiring and operating small, services-based businesses. Matt previously founded MindPak, an education technology company aimed at improving student mental health. Before embarking on his entrepreneurial journey, Matt worked in Product Operations at Newsela and taught at California’s third lowest-performing middle school as part of Teach For America. In addition, Matt serves as a board observer for Choice Hotels International. Matt holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business with majors in Finance and Management, and an undergraduate degree in History with a minor in Economics from Pomona College.
